Urban Anthropology -
Urban (from Latin urbs, city) anthropology emerged as a sub-discipline during the 1960s in order to concentrate on issues to do with people living in or moving to urban environments. There were two factors that led to the formation of urban anthropology. One concerned the need to shake off the myth, both in popular and anthropological imagination, that anthropology is solely about the study of small, isolated and ‘primitive’ communities. Figurative Art -
Figurative art, also known as representational art, is the mirror image of abstract art. That is, it portrays figures or objects as they might appear in nature: the objective correlative is something real rather than (as in abstract art) a pattern, geometrical shape or other intellectual construct. Indeed, if someone gives money away because he or she thinks that this is what generous people do, the action is not done out of generosity. A truly generous person simply sees someone who needs something and feels inclined to satisfy this need, if possible. In general, the virtuous person is someone who has certain emotional reactions to various situations, reactions which lead him or her to behave in a virtuous fashion. An ethical system based on the cultivation of virtue can be contrasted with a system of deontological ethics. In deontology it is a set of... Virtues And Vices
